An accent wall is when just one wall in the room is different than the rest. That could be a different color, different shade, different design, etc. In most cases, the accent wall is a different color than the rest. A lot of times, people will do all white walls and choose one color to stand out. That could be a favorite color or a color that brings in all the various colors in the room. An accent wall can really tie in your accessories, bedding and color scheme with the walls of the room. An accent wall is a perfect way to bring color into the room, without overdoing it. The color could even be bright or bold because it won’t overtake the area since it is just one wall. Accent walls also give you the chance to play around with a fun design on one wall in your bedroom, or any room for that matter. A great way to go about painting an accent wall is to first set up a color scheme for that room. Once you have your bedding and other accessories picked out, you can decide which wall to do. Usually, the accent wall looks nice behind the bed, or the desk, however your room is set up. Leave the remainder of the walls white, or an off white or light shade of one of the other colors in the room, and choose the color you want to pull out of the color scheme for your accent wall. Most importantly, this is a way to bring color into a room and have fun with it, without having too much fun!
